"I gave this creation called Tavel all the qualities that I thought would give it a soul, and then made it into a god and dropped it into all the worldlines that came through the gate in the hope that some human being in those worldlines would make him feel love and thus have a soul."

Bai six raised his eyes slowly, and he sighed as if in regret.

"But no matter how many world lines it passes through, it is like a cold statue, a broken mirror, sitting on its throne looking down indifferently at the humans who bow down to it, giving them external objects in a step-by-step manner, but unable to feel human emotions in any way."

"I realised that such a method was not feasible and called it back from all the world lines."

"I inquire of it." Bai six lowered his eyes and lifted Tavel's jaw, asking softly of the still sleeping Tavel, "Why do you not wish to become an evil god?"

"Why not feel the love and pain, and become a keeper of souls?"

Bai six's gloved hand caressed Tavel's closed eyes and his tone grew softer: "I got an interesting answer."

"It looked at me with those pure black eyes and said that it thought humans were just fine as they were, without the presence of gods and gates."

"In Tavel's eyes, it's good that they are just warming each other up in this universe, where love and pain are intertwined."

"It Buming white why God has to exist, God has to keep the door, God has to give those things to mankind, God has to keep the door, and instead of making the world line better, these things make them more miserable."

Bai six looked up at Bai Liu and smiled: "I told it that it was not God who wanted to exist, but that God already existed, not you, but someone else."

"It could not understand and asked me if there was not a world line of God in this world?"

"I told it and said no."

"To be honest, Tavel has been a bit of a disappointment to me." Bai six stepped back slowly as he flicked his hand and the silk threads wrapped around Tavel's body lifted him up like a puppet on a string, "because no matter how much I tell it these truths, how much I teach it to become an evil god, it cannot understand or do so."

"It has a foolishly naive perception of humanity."

"I gave it so much divine power, and it foolishly expended itself bit by bit in the process of fulfilling the wishes of mankind."

Bai six looked at Tavel, lifted up by the silk thread, as if in pity: "I had thought that such gratuitous giving and gifting by Tavel would make these humans love him, but no, he was always given only more greedy demands."

"No matter how much Tavel as a god gives to mankind, what He recovers from mankind is always only desire, endless desire."

"I became bored, and after the last bit of patience I had with this creature after my own heart had run out, I chose to banish Him."

"Since humans can't make you learn [to love], I'll let humans make you [suffer]."

Bai six lowered his eyes as he loosened the thread from which he had suspended Tavel, who instantly fell into an endless universe of darkness.

Then with one hand, the silk thread flung out, suspending Tavel again.

Bai six smiles and looks up at Bai Liu across the watery wall, "Don't be so nervous, I'm not really going to let go."

"He's the only leverage I have to talk to you face-to-face, and I wouldn't dare throw it away at will, or I wouldn't even find another way to get you to sit down honestly and concentrate on my words."

Bai six's attitude towards Tavel is clearly that of a doll, as he plays with Tavel and with Bai Liu at will.

Bai Liu, clutching the handle of his chair, looked at Bai six: "So what did you do to him?"

"I put a part of [the door] on Tavel's eyes." The silk thread in Bai six's hand opened and Tavel's eyes finally opened slowly.

Tavel floats in the universe, his eyes slightly open, a pair of silvery blue eyes that seem to reflect the entire back of the universe in them, rivers of stars and light, but with no emotion, simply reflecting everything in the world indifferently, like a piece of well-made glass, complete and empty, reflecting what is behind them, not at all like Xie Ta's flat and open eyes It is not at all like Xie Ta's flat, open eyes.

There was no emotion in those eyes, and no soul.

"When humans look into Tavel's eyes, they can see those abyssal universes on the other side [of the door] in which countless mad worldlines struggle, and desire is reflected from the other side of the door into the eyes of these people, plunging them into the same madness as on the other side of the door."

Bai six looks to Bai Liu who explains briskly, "Soon they will have the ultimate hatred for the gatekeeper who both grants their wishes and shackles their desires."

"So they will hurt the carrier of this door, the owner of these eyes, to their heart's content until their desires are satisfied."

Bai six hooked his mouth, "-until the monsters of the Abyss on the other side of the door, through their mutilation of Tavel, managed to get through the gap in the door over Tavel's eyes and come to this side of the door and become heretics in the mouth of these humans."

"Those monsters were not caused by Xie Ta." Bai Liu asked calmly and rhetorically. Bai Liu calmly asked, "It was the desire of these people that destroyed the door over Xie Ta's eyes, allowing the monsters on the other side of the door to pass through it and reach this side, but you induced Xie Ta to think that it was his fault, and that those around him would think it was his fault too, thus hating him more and making him suffer more, didn't you?"

"Bingo." Bai six laughed, "That's right."

Bai six shrugged his shoulders and sighed regretfully, "Actually, I personally feel that I have done something wrong when things have come to this tragic point."

"I originally wanted Tavel to have a soul out of love, so I sculpted it into a non-aggressive god, but my ultimate goal was for it to kill me, but a Tavel of that character could not come forward to attack me as its creator, even if I tortured it to destruction."

"So I've changed my strategy."

Bai six laughed a little: "I cleansed its memory and told it that you were the original old evil god and gatekeeper, and that [I] was just a greedy, human who had stolen your godhood."

"You want to maintain the order of this universe and the integrity of the Gate, come and kill the most greedy, most desperate being in the world who wants to destroy you, and that is [me]."

"I banished Tavel thus to the next 658 worldlines, and at the same time lowered my derivatives into them, I induced, implied, and conditioned my derivatives, whispering in their ears in their dreams - by killing Tavel once and for all, you will have access to the most valuable thing in the world."

"I know what kind of God I am, so I know exactly what my creatures will be like and what kind of things they will go on to do - they cannot resist such temptation."

Bai six lifted his eyelids and his eyes turned silvery blue for a moment as he looked directly at Bai Liu.

"-because they, like me, are themselves a collection of the two greatest desires of the universe on either side of the door."

"I had expected Tavel to rebel against me in order to protect the door and preserve truth and order, but it still hasn't."

"It was like countless world lines that had been gods before, allowing me and other humans to slaughter, abuse and mutilate it, and it was in that moment that I realised that this one was not at all compassionate towards humans in order to fulfil human desires."

"It was pure naivety and indifference, it never gave any positive eyes to humans or to me at all, it couldn't see any lust-filled being like us in its eyes - even when [I] stood behind it in those 657 world lines as the enemy who had killed it to take the throne of God, it still looked coldly and earnestly looking at the book, not once looking back."

"Because it finds books more interesting than humans."

"Later, even when [I] tormented it more as its enemy and even banished it further into the game, it still had no emotions for me, love, hate, detest, all of them."

"Because it has no desire for me, or all other humans, whatsoever."

"Interesting to say the least." Bai six let out a soft laugh, "At this point, it's surprisingly less human and arrogant than I am for a creature of mine."

"At a time when I was all set to give up on this creation, two amazing things happened in the 658th world line."

Bai six looked across the watery wall at Bai Liu, the smile on his face deepening, "The first thing that happened was that my derivatives got out of my control."

"There was no way for me to enter his dreams, to reach him, to entice him, to hint at him, something that had never been done before, and this derivative grew up like a perfectly normal human child in this world line in isolation."

"It's really interesting, I watched him and found that he actually survived in an environment that rejected him in the extreme."

"Juvenile humans are prone to committing suicide without their own kind, or with the rejection of all their kind - in short, when they are not loved by their own kind - but it is interesting that he survived this lack of acceptance by any human."

Little by little, Bai Liu's face turned cold.

Bai six continued with a grin as if he hadn't seen it, "Not only did this juvenile derivative survive, he mistakenly dropped me near him in an environment of disgust and rejection by all my kind, Tavel, a completely impossible creation to produce emotion as a kind."

"-and this misconception is simply because they are all in a state of isolation together."

"And this knowledge gives the derivative affection for his destined enemy, a creation that doesn't even put him squarely in his sights."

"Day and night he wandered around what he thought was the only one of his kind, thinking he was watching Tavel well disguised, pretending not to share his few morsels of food with the only one because he didn't want him to starve, and surreptitiously hiding the books he liked to read in the places where Tavel used to borrow them. "

"Next, an even more amazing situation arose."

The arc of a smile on Bai six's face widened, "This derivative, in this complete lack of any emotional response from Tavel, generated its own soul on the basis of feelings generated by its own misperceptions."

"This is the first time I have seen a human being produce a soul without being loved."

The last trace of expression on Bai Liu's face was gone.
