The system gave Bai Liu his first task, but Bai Liu's focus was not on the task instead, he looked at the words [Avoid being hatched] and fell into a deep thought.

...... hatching?

Gee, can that bunch of wax figures hatch them?

Bai Liu made a silent note, and as soon as he turned around he saw a wax figure of a mermaid of equal height standing across the bed.

This is the largest wax figure of a mermaid that Bai Liu has seen in the house.

The wax figure of a mermaid is beautiful, holding a one-person high polished mirror, the frame of which is also embedded in wax, while the graceful hands of the mermaid are the support for the dressing mirror.

It is also the only wax figure of a mermaid in the room that is not looking at Bai Liu.

He looks into the mirror with a smile on his face and Bai Liu is reflected in it, his arms are wrapped around the mirror as if he were Bai Liu in it, which makes Bai Liu slightly uncomfortable.

The eyes of the mermaid wax figure fall on the mirror, the brow inward, the corners of the eyes lowered, the fish tail splayed helplessly on the ground, with a realistic and cheerful expression, as if welcoming the person in the mirror.

Bai Liu looks in the mirror and the [self] inside gives an eerie wax-like smile to the Bai Liu outside the mirror.

Bai Liu covers the mirror with a white cloth unmoved.

This level of horror doesn't work for Bai Liu, who is a horror game maker in the real world and often stays up until two or three o'clock alone to create all kinds of horror scenes, so this kind of routine horror scene with a man in the mirror laughing at you is almost numb to Bai Liu and he doesn't feel anything.

It seems that the tourists who disappeared silently directly from the hotel and whose bodies were never found, as Jeff said earlier, were probably [hatched] by these mermaid wax figures.

Although Bai Liu doesn't know exactly what [incubation] is all about, it can't be good.

Conservatively, Bai Liu covered all the mermaid wax figures with white sheets from the hotel room, including the huge mirror, to block out the eerie and omnipresent view. It doesn't always work, but it's better than nothing.

Most importantly, with so many people looking at Bai Liu in fish wax, Bai Liu couldn't sleep either.

As he shielded himself from the mirror, he touched the mermaid wax figure's fish tail, which did not feel like a glossy, silky touch of pewter, but was as slimy and wet as a sea fish.

Bai Liu even felt the scales on the tail of the wax figure under him gently open and close.

Bai Liu paused to smell his fingers after touching the wax figure and was surprised to smell a strong smell of fish, but when Bai Liu got close enough to sniff the mermaid wax figure, he didn't smell anything fishy, only the smoky aroma of the hotel room.

It could be the smell carried off the car ......

...... More likely Bai Liu himself gave off that fishy smell, and thinking about that mermaid wax figure that can [hatch] tourists, Bai Liu frowned, feeling a little less than good.

What can be hatched from a mermaid wax figure?

Mostly it's just some nasty looking fish or something.

The word "hatching" reminds Bai Liu of a film called "The Mermaid in the Sewer", which he watched two or three times for its source material and has not had any charming fantasies about mermaids ever since.

Bai Liu was tired after a long night's drive, so he simply cleaned himself up and lay down on his bed to drift off to sleep. His stamina was already at zero and he desperately needed to sleep in relative safety to replenish it.

In the middle of the night, Bai Liu was awakened by a very dull, dragging, strange sound.

As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw that the white cloth that had previously covered the wax figures of the mermaids had somehow slipped off, leaving only a part of it hanging on these wax figures.

Some of these wax figures are covered by white cloths so that only one eye is visible, and their expressions seem to have changed slightly, from one of divine compassion to one of resignation and resentment, as they look at Bai Liu motionlessly, as if blaming him for covering them with white cloths.

Bai Liu noticed that the wax figures seemed to be closer together than they had been before he went to sleep, like a group of people about to gather at a table for a meal slowly gathering around his bed with their hands raised.

Especially the dressing-glass mermaid wax figure holding a huge mirror, Bai Liu woke up in a daze to see her feet almost on the mirror.

The huge mirror, which was facing the bed, had moved to fit against it.

As soon as Bai Liu sat up on his shrunken feet, he saw himself reflected in the mirror.

In the mirror, [Bai Liu's] skin is pale as rock, his eyes are devoid of black, and the cobwebbed pattern of marble surrounds them. [He] shows a stiff smile at the corners of his mouth to the Bai Liu outside the mirror, but in a flash, it becomes a normal mirror image again, as if it was just Bai Liu's illusion.

Bai Liu quietly got up from the bed and, without changing his face, tied the wax figures of the mermaids up with a white cloth.

To prevent the wax figures from breaking free, Bai Liu used twine to tie them twice, then wrapped the smaller ones in a white cloth and threw them into the wardrobe and locked them, while the larger ones were pushed into the bathroom and locked behind them, with the precision of a skilled kidnapper.

The objects appear to be somewhat restricted in their movement, not being able to move until Bai Liu is asleep, and it appears that even after Bai Liu is asleep, they need to break free of the white cloth and see Bai Liu before they can move towards him.

Some of the little wax figures of mermaids that had not gotten their white cloths off were just scurrying around in the white cloth, not gathering towards the bed but scattering and fleeing.

Once this rule was clarified, Bai Liu took the opportunity to increase the limit to the maximum.

Just as he was finishing this and clapping his hands together to get ready for bed, Bai Liu heard a door open and close and a creeping footstep from next door to him.

Bai Liu had just lain down on the bed. The four rooms he had booked were all adjacent to each other, with Andre and Jeff living in the rooms next to each other on the left and right.

The sound of the door opening and closing came from the left, which was Jeff's room. Bai Liu gets up from the bed and presses himself against the door to look through the cat's eye into the corridor.

Jeff was seen standing in the corridor and after looking around to make sure the corridor was clear, he sneaked down the hotel stairs.

Bai Liu frowned, Jeff, "What are you doing up in the middle of the night?

He was just about to open the door and follow him when he saw the door handle of Jeff's room, which had been closed, start to turn slowly again, as if someone else was about to follow Jeff out of his room.

Hotel rooms are for one person.

Lucy could not have gone to Jeff's room in the middle of the night, Andre was not on good terms with Jeff and could not have gone to Jeff in the middle of the night, and Bai Liu was in his room.

And who is this person coming out of Jeff's room?

Bai Liu's heart skipped a beat as he realised something with a jolt and moved slightly away from his face which was pressed against the cat's eye.

It's not a person coming out of Jeff's room!

Jeff's door handle turned to a click and finally opened slowly from the inside, and Bai Liu heard again that dull dragging sound he had heard between half-asleep, as if something was being dragged along on its knees on the floor.

But Bai Liu knew this time how the sound was made.

A human-sized wax figure of a mermaid emerges from Jeff's room, its face frozen in place, its face expressionless, its eyes deadly white from lack of eyes, its fish tail on the ground, scuffing and dragging along the empty corridor in the dead of night.

Its snow-white fishtail trailed across the hotel's sturdy old red carpet, leaving a greasy trail of wax on the carpet, and its full body remained motionless as it made its way up the stairs, reminding Bai Liu of a zombie's rigid ghoul that can only bounce forward.

...... This thing can actually run out of the room by itself and open the door ......

As the wax figure of the mermaid dragged out of Jeff's room reached the staircase, it seemed to sense something, and the head on its shoulder suddenly twisted rigidly 180 degrees and turned straight back.

The candles on its face are slowly melting away, revealing an almost fleshy lightness.

It then shifted its direction of travel and walked expressionlessly in the direction of Bai Liu's room.

Bai Liu made sure the door was unlocked and took two steps back with his back pressed against the door holding his breath as he wondered what the hell this thing wanted.

Bai Liu soon saw out of the corner of his eye that the cat's eye on the door had turned white and was still turning.

The thing was coming up to look at the person in the door with its eyes, and the thing that kept turning was the white eye of the wax figure.

This thing is searching through the cat's eye to find out who is in the room.

The eyes of this mermaid wax figure can actually see through the one-way cat's eye to the person inside.

The white eyes on the cat's eyes are still rolling as Bai Liu slowly moves aside with bated breath, reaching out his foot to hook the white cloth on the floor, ready to cover himself with it.

The frightening image was projected onto the screen of the small TV and those waiting in front of the small Bai Liu TV held their breath and bit their hands with nervousness.

"Fuck fuck fuck, that's scary, I'd have dropped my mental value if I was in-game ......"

"Steady on! Hold on! This place has a super high mortality rate for newcomers!"

" The monsters in Siren town are really nasty and it's hard for newcomers just coming in to keep their cool and figure out the weaknesses of this thing ......"

The new players on the screens around Bai Liu have almost reached the point where the mermaid wax figure is blocking the door, and some players are playing a little faster and the mermaid wax figure outside the door is clanging against it.

One of the players was whimpering and crying while huddled by the vibrating door with his ears, a wooden stick trembling in his hand, seemingly ready to be used in an attack.

The mermaid wax figure banged on the door and he cried out and screamed a little, but no one came to his rescue. The door to this player's room stopped after two shakes and the wax figure of the mermaid outside seemed to have left.

The sobbing player wiped his eyes and sighed with relief after the robbery, propping himself up on the door and standing up weakly on his hands and feet.

But what he didn't notice was that the cat's eye on the door was still white, a pure white stone eye staring silently through it at the person inside.

That mermaid wax figure didn't leave at all, it just pretended to leave.

Seeing the player stand up, a strange and stiff smile appeared on the wax figure's face as it grinned contentedly as if it had found its prey.

The door was slammed twice more and easily broken open, with players who hadn't reacted screaming and being crushed underneath it.

The mermaid wax figure entered the house trailing its fish tail, a grin of strange innocence and odd hideousness on its face as it slowly reached out with open hands to the player pinned under the door.

The moment he was touched by the wax figure of a mermaid, the player seemed to be wrapped in something all over his body, his eyes rolled up, his limbs were curling up in slow motion, his legs were twitching and swaying on the ground together, like a fish struggling madly after being splashed with boiling water, and his skin turned stiff and pale in an instant.

The wax on the mermaid's body melted as quickly as if it had met hot water and wrapped around the stiff player on the floor.

Around the player's eyes appear marbled grey-black lines of the kind seen in Bai Liu's mirror, and the eyeballs disappear, leaving only the whites of the eyes covered with lines and the corners of the mouth stiffened and turned upwards.

He is wrapped in this melted wax as a wax figure of a mermaid.

[Play Yi Zhong Spiritual value is zero, completely alienated by the monster mermaid wax figure, game pass failed]

[Player Liu Xiaohong has zero spirit value and failed to pass the game by Mermaid Wax Figure ......]

[Player Zou Mingri ...... game pass failed]

The small TVs of the failed players went out with a "zippy" sound, and the people gathered around them sighed.

"Eh, I knew it, I guess it's still hard to have a pass this time, 'Siren Small Town' is so hard ......"

It's only the first night and the monster has only had one look and almost a fifth of the entire [newcomers' area] TV wall is darkened with small TVs.

Bai Liu The TV screens above, below and to the left and right went out, leaving him alone in a sea of black screens, staring calmly out the door.
