As the first Guy raised his gun to fire at them, Tang Erda raised her hand to stop one of them and bellowed, "Bend and run!"

"There's no need." Bai Liu looked towards the end of the mists, "The space here has been sealed since we came in, it's all sealed up by now, we can't get out."

Tang Erda followed Bai Liu's line of sight and stared.

At the end of the mist there is a signpost, a fresh gunshot hole, just made by Tang Erda, and three figures standing next to it, two and a half of them, themselves.

"Looks like we'll have to decrypt to get out of here." Bai Liu turned his head to look at these approaching zombie brides, " Tang Erda, you hold on for a while."

Tang Erda raises her hand and sweeps the guns of two of the zombie brides, holds the gun of the third and turns it around and fires two hard shots into her opponent's mouth, splattering her face with blood before turning to Bai Liu behind her and asking, "Where is the puzzle here?"

Bai Liu pointed to the road sign next to him, "This is it."

"What could be the mystery here?" Tang Erda asked suspiciously as she snapped a Guy's neck and wiped the plasma that had burst onto her own face.

Bai Liu's eyes rest on the signpost, which has eight signs pointing to the recruits' garrison, the tavern, the training camp, the town exit, the registration office, the railway station, the direction of the war zone and the cemetery.

Liu Jiayi scanned the signs quickly: "The hint is the address, but whichever way you go, you'll end up back where you came from, so it must fit a particular route of travel to get out."

"But with eight pointers, there are too many routes that can be combined." Liu Jiayi wrinkled her nose at Bai Liu, "Do you have any clues that could be used as hints?"

Bai Liu glanced at Guy who was tangling with Tang Erda: "Didn't we get the clue already?"

Liu Jiayi snapped her head around to look at the Guy's: "These Guy's are zombies, buried corpses, they came from the cemetery!"

"Yes, this group of Guy came from the cemetery and crossed the barrier of this ghostly wall." Bai Liu's eyes went back to the road sign, "Since this group of Guy, who were already zombies, could cross this barrier, it means that this route of travel was one that he was very familiar with and could subconsciously walk out even after he died as a zombie."

Liu Jiayi had been in Red Cross and was not familiar with Guy, so after hearing Bai Liu's analysis, he simply said, "I don't understand this stuff, I'll go help Tang Erda, so you can solve it quickly."

With that, Liu Jiayi rushed to Tang Erda's side with two vials of antidote and kicked away a gun swung from behind him.

The barrel of the gun goes off and Bai Liu sidesteps it, but his eyes are glued to the indicator.

If the seven days of the war were a cycle, the dead Guy would have remembered the path he took here during his life, and on the second day Guy defected, then it would have been the path Guy took on the first day.

And Guy was with him the whole time that day.

They met Guy at - Bai Liu moved his eyes to the first signpost: "The first one is in the direction of the battlefield."

Tang Erda, who had already collected all the monsters' guns, lifted Liu Jiayi's shoulders with both hands and ran two steps towards the battlefield, turning back and hissing, "And then what? Bai Liu, there are more and more of these zombies, hurry up!"

Bai Liu fluently gave the next addresses, "The second place is the railway station, the third is the registration office, the fourth is the recruit cantonment, the fifth is the tavern and the sixth is the training camp."

Tang Erda urgently pursued the question, "What about the seventh and eighth!"

Bai Liu's eyes went back and forth twice between the [town exit] and the [cemetery], which he had not visited with Guy, so he was not sure of the sequence.

But these are corpses, and the bodies should end up in the cemetery.

Bai Liu was quiet for only a second before continuing, "The seventh is the town exit and the eighth is the cemetery."

Tang Erda stepped in the direction of the cemetery, then looked behind her at the motionless mist and looked at Bai Liu in confusion: "Why is there no reaction? Did I not just walk right?"

He does not doubt that Bai Liu's judgement was wrong.

Liu Jiayi ripped away from Tang Erda and grabbed her hands, the man was running so fast that she was so dizzy from the shaking that she didn't have time to dissuade him, and it was only when she was put down at this point that she spoke breathlessly, "You're going the other way, these Guy's are coming from the cemetery, we should go backwards in the direction of the cemetery."

Tang Erda: "......"

Tang Erda gave Bai Liu a stony and incredulous look: "But Bai Liu is reading it ......"

Bai Liu smiled innocently at him, "I thought you knew it was supposed to go backwards, it was a good guess."

Tang Erda: "......"

"I told you Bai Liu, this Ben is playing, you believe him?" Liu Jiayi shrugged off his hand impatiently, "Go away, big dummy."

Walking backwards did come out easily enough. Bai Liu lifted the fog in front of him and there was another figure in front of him.

Tang Erda subconsciously drew her revolver and tried to take on the figure, but a black whip was thrown through the mist with such speed that it struck Tang Erda on the back of her hand before she had time to pull it out.

This familiar weapon and whipping pain ...... Tang Erda retracted her skill weapon and tried, " Spades ?"

Spades stepped out of the mist, his whip in his left hand and a cold look at Tang Erda: "Didn't I tell you not to use your gun casually?"

Tang Erda couldn't hold back her "==" for a moment.

Spades, why is it that outrageous demands like not allowing someone to use their skill weapon can be said with such a straight face.

Bai Liu gave Spades a bland glance: "Don't just hit my team members."

Spades let out an oooh and then immediately turned to Tang Erda and said, "Sorry."

Liu Jiayi muttered in an uncomfortable voice, "An apology and that's it?"

Spades looked at Liu Jiayi calmly for a moment, raised his hand and without hesitation struck the back of his own hand with the whip as well and asked, "Is it over now?"

Liu Jiayi: "......"

Tang Erda: "......"

Why would this man even bother with an eight year old girl so seriously, or in such a childish way ......

Seeing Spades' serious face, he had the air of a barbarian who wanted to argue with Liu Jiayi to the end and win or lose, Bai Liu had to stop him, "Okay, what clues did you find?"

Spades just turned to Bai Liu: "I found a woman in the cemetery."

"A woman?" Bai Liu's tone rose slightly, "Who?"

Spades looked straight at Bai Liu: " Alex's former fiancée."

Spades took Bai Liu and his group through a blanket of mist to a brand new town.

A more appropriate term would be "all" old town.

The formerly lively and bustling border town has become littered with old dust, the wooden signposts are rickety and the writing on them has long since rotted and blurred, the tents stacked over the training camp are buried under many old industrial buildings, and the shelves at the entrance where the list of names was kept have long since rusted and been tossed aside.

The bistro is nowhere to be found.

On the site of the tavern is a long-closed grocery shop, with a closing date of thirty years ago.

The ground is covered with scraps of paper rolled about, billboard plastic, and some vinyl disc fragments.

Bai Liu turned back to find the land where the lush, warren rainforest had disappeared, replaced by a huge factory with a crumbling billboard reading [producer of raw tropical forest wood, a global log production site] next to an oil-painted, smiling face of a logger.

The doors of the factory, which is said to be the world's largest log production site, are locked and the sign on the door indicates that it has been closed for a long time, much the same time as the grocery shop.

Bai Liu withdrew his gaze and walked on through the ruined town.

Crossing the town's exit to a long-abandoned cemetery, Spades slips through the rusty gate and opens it for Bai Liu from the inside.

Bai Liu enters the cemetery.

The cemetery is an extremely old and dilapidated cemetery, with marble memorials strewn with weeds and a very overgrown cemetery that looks like a backyard that hasn't been tended to in over a decade, with crosses and headstones hidden in the weeds.

But that's not the weirdest part of this cemetery.

The most bizarre aspect of this cemetery was that Bai Liu had carefully noted the names of the dead on every cross and headstone from the time he entered the cemetery to the time he walked to the centre of the cemetery.

All the headstones are laid out exactly the same with the time of death, black and white photographs, and names of those who died.

All the graves in the entire cemetery are those of Guy Davis.

And basically every tomb was dug up, and from the ones that were dug up inside, you could vaguely see the coffins that had been rushed out and brutally destroyed by the bodies inside, and the mud that had been pushed out from inside the graves next to them, piled up on either side of the headstones.

Walking through the empty cemetery and reaching the far corner, Bai Liu sees a grandmother standing there holding a bouquet of flowers, her back turned to Bai Liu, she bows tremblingly and places a bouquet of flowers and a wedding dress on a headstone.

"Hello." Bai Liu called to her in a soft voice, "And you are?"

She turned to me, her cloudy eyes filled with tears: "I was that boy Alex's fiancée."

"But that was fifty or sixty years ago." She waved her hand, swept the dust from the tombstone, propped herself up and sat down with a sigh, muttering to herself, "But now it's just an old woman who cleans his tombstone."

Bai Liu half-crouched down and looked the old woman in the eye: "What is your name?"

" Elena, just call me Elena." The old woman looked back at Bai Liu, "And who are you, young man?"

Bai Liu says calmly, "You may not believe this, but I am Alex's comrade."

"A war hero?" The old woman did snort, "Young man, I see you are even more senile than I. That war has been over for over fifty years, how about a more recent war setting for your dreams of being a war hero?"
