Chapter 56: Celebration of life

The last time they were on the Ferris wheel, Lu Xun had made him an invitation to kiss, but he had refused unceremoniously.

The bear couldn't bear to hear that kind of talk and the bear said he would ask again the next time he came.

The Ferris wheel slowly rises to the top and Ye Yao is wrapped in Lu Xun's arms.

By the time a few of the cooks had left, they were once again the only two people left in the house.

It is a standard candlelit dinner, with candlelight swaying to illuminate the exquisite food below and the wine in the glass on the side.

Ye Yao sits down on a chair and, looking at the set-up, he suddenly remembers a film he once saw with Lu Xun.

It's a two-man masterpiece film Lu Xun watches with him after he learns he's bent, in order to make him sick of men straightening him out.

In that film, the male lead, Noichi, accidentally spills red wine on his shirt and falls tenderly on top of the other male lead, crying.

And then the two male leads start to go from dark to dawn.

Ye Yao looks at Lu Xun for a moment and sees the meaningful look in his eyes.

Ye Yao took a sip of red wine from his glass. Instead of swallowing it, he sidled up and pulled Lu Xun closer by the collar of his shirt and kissed him on the lips, passing the sip of red wine over.

The wine mingles with saliva and crosses into Lu Xun's mouth, where he drinks every drop, before finally scouring Ye Yao's mouth clean.

Lu Xun's eyes were half-smiled with satisfaction: "This sip is much more precious and delicious than an 82-year-old Lafite, it's priceless!"

The birthday boy immediately made his wish: "That's how I'll drink every sip of wine from now on."

Ye Yao laughed softly, "What nonsense, eat."

Lu Xun couldn't let Ye Yao go into battle hungry as he had to replenish his strength for the rest of the day, so the meal was a peaceful one, with only a few kisses and touches and hugs, thanks to Lu Xun's patience.

When Ye Yao had finished the last bite of meat, Lu Xun, who had been watching him, immediately stood up and opened the fridge, taking out the cake and cream.

Ye Yao looked at the half-finished cake and asked, "Are you trying to put the cream on it yourself?"

Lu Xun raised an eyebrow, "Yes, no one else knows where to put the buttercream on a birthday cake that suits me best."

Ye Yao doesn't see the problem in this statement and goes over to help Lu Xun.

He and Lu Xun put the cream on, placed the candles and made their wishes, and then it was time to eat the cake.

The cake was soft and fluffy, and the cream was sweet but not greasy, making it a very good dessert.

Ye Yao ate some of it and then noticed that Lu Xun didn't move a single bite, but looked at him with a smile.

Ye Yao nodded and then saw Lu Xun pulling another cream out of the fridge.

Lu Xun walks over with the cream in his hand, scoops a bit of it and dabs it on the tip of Ye Yao's nose.

The sweet scent of cream wafts into Ye Yao's nostrils, but soon this sweetness is licked away by another person.

Lu Xun, who has finished tasting the food, has a hint of danger in his eyes.

Ye Yao lowered his eyes as he felt another cold, sweet cream being dabbed at the centre of his lips.

This cream was, of course, kissed off in full.

Further down, the cream is nudged at the throat.

Ye Yao tilted her head up and felt the wonderful coldness and fire on her neck.

The buttons on his shirt are held down and Ye Yao hears Lu Xun, who looks up, whispering in his ear.

Lu Xun's voice had a husky edge to it, "I'm going to start enjoying the birthday cake too, don't you think?"

Lu Xun is becoming more and more able to speak directly about his needs, which is something that Ye Yao is happy to see.

Ye Yao wraps her arms around Lu Xun's neck and kisses him on the corner of his mouth.

"I got you a present, maybe ......" Ye Yao said softly, "that would go better with the cake you wanted."

Ye Yao lifted her slightly limp arms around Lu Xun's neck and offered Lu Xun her first birthday wish of the day.

"Happy birthday."

"And I'll always be there for you on future birthdays."
